On March 28, 2023, the Seminar on Green Transportation Cooperation of the 11th Regional Leaders’ Summit was held online. The Jinan Initiative on Green Transportation Cooperation and Development, jointly initiated by Shandong Provincial Department of Transportation and the Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People’s Government, was released at the event, laying a solid foundation for exchanges and cooperation in the fields of green transportation among Shandong and its sister provinces and states.
“We hope that Shandong and its sister provinces and states can carry out exchanges in the field of green transportation through this seminar, jointly cope with the current challenges in the field of transportation, and strive for realizing green, low-carbon, and high-quality development,” said Cai Xianjin, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People’s Government.
Gao Liping, deputy director of Shandong Provincial Department of Transport, introduced the green and low-carbon development plan of Shandong’s transportation, and welcomed transportation practitioners of sister provinces and states to visit Shandong for exchanges and cooperation, and jointly make contributions to the development of sustainable transport in the world.
Representatives from transport departments of Bavaria of Germany, Haute-Austria of Austria, Western Cape of South Africa, Quebec of Canada, Georgia of the United States of America, and Sao Paulo of Brazil introduced their respective green transportation policies and plans. Business representatives and industry experts of each province and state introduced their experiences and practices in green transportation, and expressed their willingness to carry out exchanges and cooperation in green transportation under the mechanism of Regional Leaders’ Summit.
